The Hergatherers – Quizzit!!!

20 Sep

Before the quiz; befoer the questions…hands down to – “THE HERBGATHERERS”!!! for the excellent quizzes and the questions…so who are they???
Karthik aka Ranga, Chandan aka Bolthrower and myself…all the questions that appear in these quizzes henceforth are due to the combined efforts of the trio…hehe we slogged it out for preparing these questions…nothing’s picked up from anywhere…don’t remembering slogging so much for the exams too…im sure ranga and Bolthrower are going to agree with me on this…here are a few questions…dont use the net; you can crack them – use your common sense and a bit of uncommon thinkinh ;-)

1. Famous lines in transalation: “Richly watered, richly fruited, cool with the winds of the south and dark with the harvests”. Which lines? Which poem?

2. How do we better know Jasper and Jinx as?

3. On December 3rd, 1997, Pink Floyd 1937 was discovered. What is it?

4. Connect: Honeybee Hive, Sea Mollusc, CD-ROM, Sunflower.

5. “I don’t especially like it, at least not raw. And second, I found it impossible to chew, swallow, and be ready for the next stuff. We tried substituting other vegetables, including apples and celery, but with unsatisfactory results. The solution was to stop in between so that I could spit it out into a wastebasket and then proceed.” An explanation that dispels a myth. What?

Quota!?! crap in the 21st century…

19 Sep

I know its a long time since this insensible system of quota was introduced…i don’t give a damn as to what anyone is going to say; although i know a wide majority is going to agree with me on this one…i don’t understand the basic ideology of implementing this system…if it is meant to give the backward classes a chance against the rest of the people then i think its the most absurd way to do so…why cant these damn politicians get sense into their head’s…they’re doing nothing to abolish the widely prevalent caste system in the country; this freaking rule is only going to bridge the divide even more; contributing to distress and disturbance among the people…why can’t so much efforts and energy be channelled into abolishing the caste system rather than contributing to it…even the whole nation will be with them when something positive is being done…yes yes i know there are a few exceptions…well that’s the rule…there are always exceptions…why can’t every Indian proudly say “I AM AN INDIAN!!!”…when asked about his caste and not something else…and then these same people talk about maintaining COMMUNAL HARMONY!!!WOW THAT’S AWESOME MAN!!!

Moriya Moriya!!! :-)

What’s with the RDB cult???

4 Sep

Keep the acting, cast, screenplay, music etc etc aside…no doubt A.R.R weaved magic again with his notes leaving everyone craving for more of RDB; but look at the ideology in the movie…is that way the youth of the nation (us) would like to bring about a change…certainly not; look at the stints in Ujjain where a helpless professor was beaten to death because they believed he was responsible for cancelling the elections…is that the idea of bringing about a change in the system; bringing the change into a system in a manner such that no one in the system exists at all…then for whom is the change being brought about? Such vandalism…make movies but dont deviate from the basic ideology of bringing out change…this way would lead to blood shed and chaos everywhere; whats the point in holding a RJ hostage at gun point…this stuff seems to be well portrayed only in the movies not in reality…

In another similar incident in Chandigarh, irate women demanded the suspension of a lecturer…and why? Because a student was sent out of class for using the mobile phone in class…what’s coming of the students these days??? Just if you happen to chance upon the student movements in the past such as the anti emergeny movement etc you would see that responsible leaders such as Sitaram Yechuri rose to the ocassion…these movements were meant to oppose and change the ideology and hence bring about a change in the system; they did not attack people…there isn’t any need to delve so much into the past as well; the anti-quota protest in itself is a glorious movement which opposed the ideology and not individuals…

Go a step back and look at the scenario…you will gain a broader perspective of things which will allow you to take rational decisions; go a few steps further and you a develop a tunnel-vision perspective of the entire situation, limit your view of things and take insane decisions…results of which can be disastrous as seen in the incidents at Ujjain and Meerut…lets not let this happen folks…we do need to change the system but not in a irrational and baseless manner such that we ourselves become a part of the existing miserable system…
